Queer, Cree musician and emerging producer, composer, songwriter and drag musician—born and raised in Treaty Four Territory with lineages from Cowessess First Nation (Mother), and Peguis First Nation (Father).
Their style is a blend of Indie/Alternative Rock/Indie/Pop, and Electronic Indie, blending genres and experimentations to create dynamic and transformative musical compositions. Influenced by Rostam Batmanglij, Tracy Chapman, Brian MacDonald, Trixie Mattel, Janelle Monae, William Prince, Tia & Fawn Wood, Doechii, Fleetwood Mac, Queen, and countless others–they intend to amplify Indigenous musicians/artists, expand representation and explore modern Indigeneity. The persona ‘AUNTIE KD’, is an homage to familial and community roles—inspiring fluidity within societal roles imposed by Western worldviews. Inspired by Prince, Michael Jackson, Elvis, and Johnny Cash, AUNTIE KD is also an aspiring drag musician.
